2014 Merlot
This is a perfect example of how beautifully mountain fruit from this vineyard can evolve. Still quite youthful, the nose is dominated by blackberry, currants, and lingering notes of coffee. In the mouth, it is silky smooth and offers a soft, lingering finish. For wine lovers who insist on young, bold wines for satisfaction, do yourself a favor and spend a night with a bottle of this 2014 Merlot. It just might change your perspective on mature wines.
"Complex aromas of black berry fruits, black stone fruits, chocolate, tobacco, spice and floral notes with a mineral overtone. On the palate the wine has a big silky mouth feel, well balanced, with flavors of berries, fruit, cocoa, cassis, and spice, and a long spicy finish." - Brix26
The 2014 is 100% Merlot. It is fermented and then aged in French oak—33% new—for 18 months before being bottled in the spring, then bottle-aged for an additional 18 months before release.
